There are several options available for carriers interested in contracting with Delivery Express Logistics, including:
- On-Demand Work
Weekday, weekend, or night time delivering of packages or freight on an on-call basis - Routed Work
Weekday, weekend, or nighttime delivering of packages or freight on a scheduled basis
Requirements to Become a Carrier
Due to state and local requirements, individuals must have the following to become a carrier:
- Master Business License from the Washington State Department of Licensing (File a Master Business Application)
- $1,000,000 in commercial automobile liability, $1,000,000 in general liability and $100,000 in cargo for vehicles in excess of 10,000 lbs
- UTC permit # (for General Commodities) from the Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission (File a UTC permit)
Compensation
The top weekday on-demand contract carriers average over $200 in gross revenue, complete 12 deliveries, and drive close to 200 miles on any given day. On-demand contract carriers are paid 52% of every completed job and receive fuel surcharge, when applicable. Route carriers are paid on a per route basis based on the negotiated route requirements of the job.
