Charity Spotlight
From time to time we take the opportunity to spotlight a special charity. Spotlighting the Lifelong AIDS Alliance (http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/) is easy as one of our company President’s daughters, Jenna Hamilton, is about to begin a year of HIV/AIDS learning and teaching.
Jenna was accepted into the ASPEN Program at Newport High School in the Bellevue School District. ASPEN stands for AIDS Student Peer Educators at Newport. They are a group of students who are trained in HIV/STD prevention, specifically to educate their peers.
Washington State requires that all students receive two hours of HIV education a year, and ASPEN is in charge of fulfilling this requirement to all students at Newport and other schools in the district.
In addition to providing critical, potentially life-saving education to students in the district, ASPEN also supports the Lifelong AIDS Alliance by raising money to support their programs in the battle against AIDS.
The Lifelong AIDS Alliance is an organization committed to preventing the spread of HIV, and to providing practical support services and advocating for those whose lives are affected by HIV and AIDS.
Jenna will be joining other ASPEN students in support of the 23rd Annual Seattle AIDS Walk on Saturday September 26, 2009 Lifelong at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill. AIDS Alliance
